VH1 holds emergency development meeting after Locklear arrest
VH1 development executives held an emergency all-night meeting Monday with the goal of having a greenlit reality show to present to Heather Locklear by the time she woke up Tuesday morning.
Locklear, who was incarcerated outside of San Diego for allegedly cruising under the influence of prescription drugs, was likely to be offered either a starring role in the second season of "Hollywood star Rehab," her own reality show in which she is spends 30 days in a jail constructed by VH1, or an instructional cruising series, insiders said.
"It's imperative that we get Heather in front of a camera before she sobers up or, even worse, starts rehabilitation in a center where we don't have permission to film," said VH1 VP of series development Olivia Maxell. "The arrest of a fading Hollywood star for drug use is the kind of programming opporutunity that only presents itself a few times a year, so it was imperative that we come up with some great concepts that Heather can choose from before she regains her full mental capacity."
