LIL WAYNE TOPS GRAMMY NODS
Lil Wayne was the most rewarded by the Recording Academy on Wednesday, receiving eight Grammy nominations including album of the year for "Tha Carter III." His CD was the only record this year to sell 1 million copies in its first week. Following close behind with album of the year contention, singer-songwriter Ne-Yo's "Year of the Gentleman" who got six nominations. Singer-songwriter Jazmine Sullivan, who has 
drawn comparisons to Lauryn Hill with her hit "I Need You Bad," had a breakthrough night, with five nominations. Other multiple nominees included Jay-Z and Kanye West, who had six nominations each. T.I., Lupe Fiasco, and Jennifer Hudson garnered four each. The Grammy Awards are scheduled for live broadcast on CBS on Feb 8.

Report: Jamie Lynn Spears impregnated by Bristol Palin’s boyfriend
There's a report this morning that 17 year old Jamie Lynn Spears is pregnant again and the inside word is that 18 year old Levi Johnston, the boyfriend of 17 year old Bristol Palin, is the plumpher. Jamie Lynn Spears' mom, Lynne, is said to be furious that the news of her daughter's second pregnancy has leaked.
In another stunning twist, Dateline Hollywood just learned that 17 year old Oscar nominee Keisha Castle-Hughes from the movie "Whale Rider" is also pregnant again and she claims Levi Johnston is the plumpher of her unborn bouncing baby. It doesn't stop there. Several entertainment blogs are now reporting that Ellen Page who starred in the film "Juno" is also pregnant and that Levi is the plumpher.
**UPDATE**
Levi Johnston is now reportedly dating Cole Mitchell Sprouse and Dylan Thomas Sprouse, the teenaged stars of the Disney Channel series "The Suite Life of Zack & Cody."

Jay-Z Gives Free Shows in Support of Barack
I usually feel funny about musicians using their influence in politics but since this is directly related to Barack's campaign, I'll cosign just this once...
Hip-Hop star Jay-Z will lend support to Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama and encourage young people to vote by giving two free concerts this weekend, AllHipHop.com has learned.
Jay-Z, born Shawn Carter, will perform a free show in Detroit on Saturday (October 4) followed by another free performance in Miami on Saturday (October 5). Tickets for the free concerts will be distributed at Obama’s local campaign offices, AllHipHop.com has confirmed.
Obama, who admitted a fondness for Jay-Z and Kanye West, expressed his support for Hip-Hop during an interview with MTV Host/Hip-Hop personality Sway, following a presidential rally in Greensboro, North Carolina.
He also praised the entrepreneurial mind state that rappers often possess.
“In the past, musicians oftentimes were commodities.” Obama told MTV News. “They were just shuffled around…they did well, but they didn't have the vision to say, 'I'm going to build a business. I'm going to build my own studio. I'm going to create my own production operations.' I think they're a lot more sophisticated than in the past, and that is a wonderful thing."
In related news, Obama will debate Republican presidential nominee Senator John McCain two more times: once in Tennessee on October 7 and again in New York on October 15. (From Allhiphop.com)

Celebrities sue politicians for taking away spotlight
A group of celebrities is suing Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama and Republican Vice Presidential nominee Sarah Palin for taking a significant amount of attention away from them. Obama and Palin have been turning up on the covers of Hollywood star magazines such as People, OK! and The National Enquirer. The celebrities filed the lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court seeking an unspecified amount of money for the damage suffered over the last few weeks.

Sarah Palin actually character created by Tina Fey, SNL
Presumptive Republican presidential nominee Senator John McCain on Wednesday admitted that his vice presidential running mate Sarah Palin is actually Tina Fey, who joined the campaign as part of a stunt orchestrated by the "30 Rock" star's old co-workers at "Saturday Night Live."
"This Sarah Palin character is so obviously Tina with a bad beehive hairdo that I can't believe we managed to keep up the prank for an entire week," McCain said on Wednesday after Fey's Palin wig fell off during a press conference. "I didn't believe the 'Saturday Night Live' writers when they told me I could convince the media that I would pick a running mate who's obviously grossly unqualified, that I could pretend she's ready to be commander-in-chief because Alaska is near Russia, that I wouldn't mind she's in the middle of a corruption scandal, or that I didn't do the basic vetting to find out that her 17 year-old daughter was pregnant. I'm just sorry we didn't get to have Tina arrive on stage for her acceptance speech tonight by riding a snowmobile with a dead moose she killed herself strapped to the back like we had planned."
"SNL" writers and McCain's campaign staff said it was relatively easy to convince journalists that the fictional Palin is actually governor of Alaska by setting up a fake website and convincing the few Alaskans known to the national media to play along. "Actually, the governor of Alaska is a guy, Fred or Frank or something like that," said McCain campaign chairman Rick Davis.
McCain said he will announce his real vice presidential running mate, a boring but at least marginally qualified white male, later this afternoon.

1_A rep for Christina Applegate, 36 has announced in a statement that she has been diagnosed with breast cancer and is undergoing treatment .
The statement said:
“Christina Applegate was diagnosed with an early form of breast cancer. Benefiting from early detection through a doctor ordered MRI, the cancer is not life threatening.”
“Christina is following the recommended treatment of her doctors and will have a full recovery. No further statement will be issued at this time.”
It was announced last month she would participate in the U.S. TV telethon Stand Up To Cancer on September 5th, joining Meryl Streep, Sally Field, Jennifer Aniston and Scarlett Johansson in raising money for cancer research.
Applegate is also set to compete in next month’s Emmy Awards, after receiving a nomination for Best Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for her role in hit TV show Samantha Who?
