Jonas Brothers fire publicist over low exposure

JonasBrothers The Jonas Brothers have suddenly fired their publicist after the boy band failed to appear in a single story in major newspapers, magazines and on websites (for about three hours) on Tuesday.

"That was just unacceptable to the Jonas Brothers and they took quick action with their longtime publicist," says the band's manager Roy Gerard. "I mean, this is the Jonas Brothers and you can't just drop the ball like that."

The band has not been happy with the limited exposure it has been getting in the last six months.

"They're playing groundbreaking music and it's unfair that they have to struggle to get noticed in the media and frankly that was the publicist's responsibility," says Gerard.

The Jonas Brothers are searching for a new publicist who can get them wider exposure. They're reportedly talking to the current publicist for Bananarama.

Joe Jonas signs iPhone deal after phone call breakup with Taylor Swift

Jonas

Joe Jonas has been criticized since country star Taylor Swift said the Jonas Brothers singer dumped her with a cell phone call. The 18-year-old Swift has been talking about the recent breakup as she promotes her new CD, "Fearless." But the breakup is good news for Joe. He has just signed a deal with Apple to appear in several iPhone commercials.

"They're doing something with me where I talk about the features with the fast 3G wireless technology, GPS mapping, and the App Store," writes Joe Jonas on his website. "Then I say that it also has another useful tool. I call Taylor, she answers, and I say, 'It's over, bitch.' I hang up on her and say to the camera, 'The iPhone. It redefines what a mobile phone can do.'"

Led Zeppelin Members to be Replaced by Jonas Brothers

JoBrosZep The rumors are true -- Led Zeppelin is getting back together without Robert Plant! But Dateline Hollywood has learned the planned changes go even further -- guitarist Jimmy Page and bassist John Paul Jones are also leaving the band and they're all going to be replaced by the Jonas Brothers.

In an interview with Dateline Hollywood, Jones explained that the decision came after negotiations for a tour in which Zeppelin was going to open for the Jo Bros.

"The research tells us that our fans don't have much money left for concert tickets these days and what they do have they spend to take their kids to see Nick and Joe and Kevin," he explained. "When I said in that radio interview that we were looking for a new singer, I meant it's because Robert wouldn't open for the Jonas Brothers. He says they're, quote, 'annoying little twats.'"

Rather than play such an important series of gigs with only two of three founding members, however, Jones and Page have agreed to let the entire band be replaced by the Jonas Brothers. The tour will now be called "Led Zeppelin starring The Jonas Brothers."

"I really feel that Joe, Kevin and Nick Jonas are the musical successors to myself, Jimmy Page and Robert Plant," Jones said, reading from a prepared statement. "Classic Led Zeppelin fans will swear they are seeing our younger selves reincarnated, while a new generation will learn how hard we rock and how dreamy we are."

"Led Zeppelin starring The Jonas Brothers" will play a classic and new tunes, with the former getting new arrangements that Jones described as "a fresh teen pop beat." Jason Bonham, original drummer Jon Bonham's son, will stay with the group. "It's better than another VH1 reality show," he explained.

Michael Phelps joins the Jonas Brothers

Newjonasphelps Searching for a way to continue keep his Hollywood star from waning now that the Olympics Games have ended, Michael Phelps on Tuesday announced that he is joining the Jonas Brothers.

Phelps, who will be known as as Mike Jonas, is now the oldest Jonas. Insiders say that could help Kevin Jonas, who at 20 was previously the oldest, regain more boyish appeal with the groups' younger fans, while also keeping Phelps in the spotlight.

"Let's be honest, nobody really gives a sh*t about swimming except for two weeks every four years," said Joe Simpson, who recently become Phelps' manager. "Now that he's a Jonas Brother, Americans will actually know who Mike is and pay attention to him for the next three years and 50 weeks."

Mike Jonas is expected to become the roguish prankster of the group, with a humorous but slightly more mature sensibility that Walt Disney Company executives hope could broaden the brothers' appeal from girls aged 8-12 to girls aged 8-15. It is still being determined what instrument he will pretend to play and who will do voice overs when he sings.

Jonas Brothers enlist in Marine Corps, shipping to Iraq

Jonasnewmarines The Jonas Brothers got more than a photo op during their visit to the White House yesterday. It turns out the crooning siblings were so inspired by the patriotic spirit that they also signed up for the Marine Corps!

"[Vice President] Dick [Cheney] sat down with us and after we signed autographs for all 17 of his granddaughters, he explained the importance of defeating the terrorists in before Saddam Hussein's brother becomes president and surrenders," older brother Kevin said while the JoBros posed for a quick photo in their new plumpigues.

Marine Corps officials said the Jonas Brothers will be immediately sent to after completing basic training. Kevin is expected to be sent on patrols in Basra to find improvised explosive devices, or IEDS, while Joe will manage human waste disposal at a base outside Fallujah and Nick, who is too young for combat, will help with interrogations at Abu Ghraib.

"We've discovered a loophole in the rules for treatment of prisoners that lets a Jonas Brother sing outside a prisoner's cell indefinitely until he talks," a Marine Corps source said.
