Beyonce Singing for Obamas’ First Dance

As long as it's not that damn "Single Ladies," I think we can all breathe a sigh of relief lol


Beyonce will provide the vocal styling for and Michelle 's first dance on inauguration night, but will she perform one of her chart topping hits?

According to the Associated Press the Presidential Inaugural Committee hopes to keep the song selection a mystery. Linda Douglas, a spokeswoman for the Committee tells AP: "It is our hope that we can keep the song secret until the moment."

Beyonce has expressed her desire to be a part of the inauguration since was elected and she told a reporter in November: "Whatever they want -- if they need me to volunteer, they need me to sing, I'm there, and I'm ready."

The singer and actress will also perform at the Neighborhood Ball on ABC along with Jay-Z, will.i.am, Mariah Carey,Alicia Keys, Shakira, Sting, Faith Hill, Mary J. Blige, Stevie Wonder and Maroon 5. , Leonardo DiCaprio, and Kate Walsh will be presenters at the ball. (From Entertainment Tonight/MSN)

A BABY AT LAST

Kimore Lee Simmons finally has her long-sought-after bun in the oven. The demanding diva and style maven has been trying for a child with her lover, Djimon Hounsou, and sources say the two have finally made magic. "She's ," a source told UsMagazine. Currently, Simmons has two daughters, Ming Lee Simmons, 8, and Aoki Lee Simmons, 5, with ex Russell Simmons.

RIHANNA’S FAVORITE SONGS

As the 51st Annual GRAMMY awards draw near, a portrait of Rihanna for the awards and the 'Celebrate The That Makes Us' promotional campaign has surfaced this week. All of the text used for Rihanna's portrait contain song titles from artists who have influenced or affected her life and career. Rihanna says she was so inspired by Destiny's Child's that stormed onto the charts in 1997 with “No, No, No” that she’s named five of the groups songs in addition to cuts from Prince, Stevie Wonder, Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston in her recently revealed GRAMMY portrait. Some of the other GRAMMY artist that are involed in this campaign and that will have a portrait created using song titles that have inspired them include Stevie Wonder and Lil' Wayne.

Run DMC Inducted into Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

Very much deserved :)


The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation has released the names of its latest class of inductees, which includes only the second Hip-Hop group to be selected in the organization’s 24-year history.

Run-DMC will be honored this year alongside performers Jeff Beck, Little Anthony and the Imperials, Metallica, and Bobby Womack.

Other inductees include Bill Black, DJ Fontana, and Spooner Oldham in the "Sidemen" category, and Wanda Jackson in the "Early Influence" category.

"This year's class of inductees truly represents what the Hall of Fame is all about. From classic artists that began their careers in the 50's and 60's to those that have defined the modern sound of rock and roll," Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation President & CEO Joel Peresman said in a statement. "These artists demonstrate the rich diversity of rock and roll itself. We are proud to honor these artists and celebrate their contribution to rock and roll's place in our culture."

LIL WAYNE TOPS GRAMMY NODS


Lil Wayne was the most rewarded by the Recording Academy on Wednesday, receiving eight Grammy nominations including album of the year for "Tha Carter III." His CD was the only record this year to sell 1 million copies in its first week. Following close behind with album of the year contention, singer-songwriter Ne-Yo's "Year of the Gentleman" who got six nominations. Singer-songwriter Jazmine Sullivan, who has drawn comparisons to Lauryn Hill with her hit "I Need You Bad," had a breakthrough night, with five nominations. Other multiple nominees included Jay-Z and Kanye West, who had six nominations each. T.I., Lupe Fiasco, and Jennifer Hudson garnered four each. The Grammy Awards are scheduled for live broadcast on CBS on Feb 8.

Lindsay Lohan’s strong love




Lindsay Lohan insists she and lady friend are not splitting up.
The 'Mean Girls' star, who has been dating the DJ for several months, has posted a new blog denying all rumours of a rift in their romance.

She said: "Oy vey! Rumours. Just to clear this up, because I have been getting a lot of emails asking me this one question. and Lindsay Lohan (me) are NOT breaking up. Take care xxLL"

Lindsay also revealed to her fans she can't stop listening to the song 'Happy Together' by The Turtles.

Lindsay and Samantha were reported to have had a physical fight during a recent night out at London's Boujis nightclub.

Samantha is believed to have her temper when she saw Lindsay flirting with her ex-boyfriend, model Calum Best, and angrily confronted the pair.

A source said: "They caused quite a commotion - everyone was staring. Then it erupted into a catfight, with Sam and Lindsay swearing and screaming like banshees.

"Calum looked mortified then things got nasty and he stepped in to separate them."
