Jay-Z on Tour, Ciara Opening

Jay-Z and Ciara This should be an interesting combo. I might actually be down to cop tickets...

Jay-Z has announced that he will take a break from recording his highly anticipated album The Blue Print 3, to hit the road.

The mogul will hit the road with a full band for the five dates that have been confirmed thus far, representatives for the rapper told AllHipHop.com.The first of Jay-Z’s engagements begin July 3rd at the Pearl in the Palms Casino in Las Vegas.

Songbird Ciara will open for Jay-Z on select dates on the tour, which is still confirming dates across the country.

Below are confirmed dates thus far:

Def Jam Exec Commits Suicide?

How awful!

Shakir Stewart, the record label big hired as Executive VP of Def Jam after Jay-Z's departure was found dead today.
Stewart was found dead today with a gun shot to the head, sources have told SOHH. We are being told that the gun shot was self-inflicted.Stewart, a native of Oakland, CA, graduated from Morehouse College in Atlanta before becoming a successful music publisher at Hitco publishing where he signed Ciara and Beyonce.
He was later hired by Def Jam in 2004, holding the position of VP of A&R before being promoted to Executive Vice President of Island Def Jam shortly after Jay-Z's departure in 2007. He is credited with signing big name acts such as Rick Ross and Young Jeezy. (From Sohh.com)

NOW SEE THIS: BEYONCE

Here’s the long awaited video for “If I Were a Boy,” the first of two singles off Beyoncé’s third album I Am… While some listeners will immediately think of Ciara’s similarly-titled Like A Boy because of the similarity in subject matter, the vibe and song makeup are both completely different. B definitely delivers! For most, after viewing the music video it made them like the song a bit more. Beyoncé’s third album drops November 18th. Watch the video below.
