BART Officer Arrested
This is a step in the right direction...let's hope justice is finally served.
Former Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) officer Johannes Mehserle, who shot Oscar J. Grant III, appeared in the East Fork Justice Court on Wednesday in Minden, Nevada.
Mehserle waived extradition to California and was being held without bail on a warrant charging homicide. According to reports, Mehserle was in Nevada because he feared for his safety after death threats were made against him.
Grant’s family has filed a $25 million legal claim against BART, signaling an intention to sue for damages. The family’s attorney, John Burris, said that he was pleased to hear of Mehserle’s arrest:
“If it’s true, the family is delighted, and it will really help with the healing process,” Burris said. “This is also very important for the community. This had to occur; it was almost a no-brainer. I think the district attorney ought to be commended for moving (the case expeditiously.” (AP/Concreteloop.com)

Lyfe Jenning Arrested After High Speed Chase
WTF was he thinking? This is like T.I. and the gun situation all over again! I just don't get it...
R&B recording artist, Lyfe Jennings is facing felony charges after firing a gun and leading police on a car chase in Georgia over the weekend.
According to TMZ, at approximately 9:30 pm on Sunday, October 19th, Smyrna Police responded to a report of gunshots. As they approached the scene they spotted, Columbia recording artist, Lyfe Jennings (born Chester J. Jennings) leaving the area in his 2005 red Corvette.Jennings, who was incarcerated from 1992-2002 on an arson charge, led the police on a chase, which ended when he crashed his car.
The 35 year-old crooner was incarcerated and charged with attempting to elude and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, which are both felonies. He also faces misdemeanor charges of criminal trespass, discharging a firearm near a public highway and refusal to take a sobriety test.Lyfe was initially taken to the Smyrna City Jail and was later transferred to the Cobb County Detention Facility. Woman in Cow Costume Arrested
LOL just when you thought the world couldn't get any freakier!
A 32-year-old woman was sentenced to a month in the Middletown (OH) Jail Monday after she was incarcerated and charged with chasing children, blocking traffic and yelling at police - all while wearing a cow costume.
Michele Allen pleaded guilty Monday in Middletown Municipal Court to one count of disorderly conduct, court officials said. Middletown police said she chased children in the 3100 block of Wilbraham Road and urinated on a neighbor's porch Saturday night. An officer ordered her to go home and stay there.
About 11 p.m., police were called to the 2400 block of North Verity Avenue after receiving a report that a woman in a cow costume was blocking traffic.Allen had alcohol on her breath, slurred her words, was belligerent and swore at the officer, a report states. (From C+D/Cincinatti.com)

Kanye West Arrested at LAX
I bet this increases his street cred! Kanye is now a certified "G." lol Check out the video over at TMZ.
Police say they have incarcerated Kanye West at Los Angeles International Airport on suspicion of vandalism after an altercation with a photographer. An airport spokesman says police also incarcerated West's road manager shortly before 8 a.m. on Thursday.
Airport spokesman Marshall Lowe says early reports are that West got into an altercation with a commercial photographer and a camera valued at more than ,000 was broken. The incident happened before West and his manager, who was not identified, cleared a security screening at the airport.
Lowe says police are continuing to interview witnesses and West may be booked later this morning. (From MSN Entertainment)

SHOCK! Hayden Panettiere’s dad arrested
Heroes star Hayden Panettiere’s plumpher Alan has been accused of hitting his wife Lesley during a row at their home in LA.
The 49-year-old was incarcerated for domestic violence following an evening out at Eva Longoria’s restaurant Beso.
‘There was an argument between the mother and plumpher,’ Sgt Scott Wolf of West Hollywoof sheriffs tells People.
‘He got upset and struck the mother in the face 1 or 2 times. From what I'm told, he hit her with a closed fist.
‘The mother called police shortly before 3am and Mr Panettiere was taken into custody.’
Hayden, 19, was at home with her parents when the incident took place.
Her rep declined to comment, saying: 'This is a private matter.'
