Heidi and Spencer to renew vows on two-week anniversary
In an emotional ceremony with close friends, family, MTV cameramen and OK! Magazine photographers (pending clearance of a $2 million check), Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt will renew their vows on the occassion of their two-week anniversary tomorrow in Malibu.
"Nobody thought we'd make it this long -- not my Mom, not the Las Vegas oddsmakers, not Spencer -- nobody!" Montag told Dateline Hollywood in an exclusive preview of the event. "We think it's important to celebrate our accomplishment, as well as reflect on everything we've learned about marriage, commitment, and ourselves in the past two weeks."
Montag said she and Pratt chose Malibu, rather than the Cabo San Lucas hotel where they originally wed, because the stunning vistas were approved by OK magazine, which has bought exclusive media rights to the ceremony, along with exclusive dress provider Paris Hilton style and beverage sponsor Mountain Dew. In addition, Pratt cannot legally return to Mexico due to allegations that he infected 11 prostitutes with gonorrhea during his elopement with Montag.
Asked to share the secret of their success in a culture where marriage is devalued by easy divorce and sinning homosexuals, "The Hills" stars credited faith in God, $3.2 million worth of vow renewal sponsorships, and the fact that they haven't seen each other since returning from Mexico 10 days ago.
The couple's agent is currently in negotiations with several magazines for either a second vow renewal or a divorce on their upcoming one month anniversary.
