Zac Efron was a ‘nerd’ in school
Zac Efron was a "nerd" at school.
The 'High School Musical' star admits he wasn't very popular with girls when he was growing up and was never in a cool "clique".
He said: "I didn't get much attention from chicks. I was the short kid in high school. I was, like, 5ft 6in. But as soon as I left and started working then I started to grow up a little bit. I wasn't really the cool guy or the skater dude. I had a group of friends but we weren't like a clique or anything like that. I tried really hard, I got good grades and I was in advanced classes. If you had to call me something you'd probably call me a nerd."
Zac, 20, admits he still isn't comfortable with his heartthrob status since he shot to fame playing Troy Bolton in the hit Disney movies.
He added: "It's OK. Luckily, it's not something I really have to deal with too much. I suppose I would be an OK role model. I don't do much wrong - I'm not really into the Hollywood party scene."

Jennifer Aniston speaks on aging and plastic surgery
The former 'Friends' actress - who turns 40 next year - insists the only reason she would ever consider going under the surgeon's knife would be for medical purposes.
She said: "I once had the degree of my deviated septum operated on. Since then, I can breathe much better and sleep nights like a bouncing baby. The rest of my body is all mine. And absolutely natural. And it's going to stay that way. I am very satisfied with what God gave me."
Jennifer also revealed she maintains her svelte figure with regular yoga sessions.
She added: "I do the best I can to keep myself fit, both in body and mind. I also draw a lot of strength and energy from yoga, new age and cosmic energies. I very much believe in karma - the way you treat your fellow man is how you will ultimately be treated yourself."

Matthew McConaughey refuses to hire nanny for son Levi
Matthew McConaughey is reportedly refusing to hire a nanny for new son Levi.
The 'Fool's Gold' actor - who welcomed his first child with fiance Camila Alves into the world last month - is said to be determined to raise his son without any outside help, much to the distress of Brazilian model Camila.
A source said: "If Matt could breastfeed the bouncing baby himself, he would. The house is getting messier and neither Matt or Camila are getting much sleep. Camila wants to hire someone but Matthew strongly objects - he thinks at least for the first few months he and Camila should be the only ones caring for Levi."
Matthew recently revealed he hopes Levi grows up to be less "selfish" than himself.
He said: "Of all the aspects of my character my kid could inherit, I hope it's not my tendency to be selfish. I can be pretty selfish. That wouldn't be a good part of my personality to have."

Dannii Minogue has sights on John Mayer
Dannii Minogue has vowed to "hunt down" musician John Mayer and make him her boyfriend.
'The X-Factor' judge developed a crush on the US star after seeing him perform and is delighted he is now available after splitting from Jennifer Aniston.
She said: "The best news I've heard for a long time is that John Mayer is single. I wouldn't have given him a second glance, but all that changed when I saw him perform live on TV recently with his top off. I had to be calmed down!
"So I am putting it out there - John Mayer, I am going to hunt you down! One woman's trash is another woman's treasure!"
The 36-year-old brunette has also revealed she is planning to party hard when she goes on holiday to Ibiza, Spain, later this month.
Dannii - whose sister is pop superstar Kylie Minogue - added: "I am off to Ibiza, my spiritual home, next week for some much needed TLC with my lady friends. It will be my last holiday until December when 'X Factor' finishes, so I am going to make the most of it. I love to party and I will also be hitting the beach."

Naomi Campbell felt a spiritual connection to the Great Sphinx of Giza.
The supermodel spoke to the half-lion, half-human Egyptian landmark while on a personal tour conducted by secretary general of Egypt's Supreme Council of Antiquities Zahi Hawass.
Hawass said: "She is particularly interested in the Great Sphinx of Giza. She claims she feels a great spiritual connection to it. I took her to visit and she started talking to it."
However, the acclaimed archaeologist cannot reveal what Naomi said to the decaying statue.
He added: "That is a secret. She wouldn't even tell me."
The bizarre revelation comes shortly after Naomi hit out at Kabbalah - the mystical Jewish faith whose followers include Madonna and Demi Moore - comparing it with Alcoholics Anonymous (AA).
The tempestuous model said: "I knew about Kabbalah before Madonna got involved. Kabbalah is not a religion, it's a program.
"I don't like getting hooked on things like that. It reminds me of AA but just with different words.
"They've got the same principles. We're all looking for positivity in our lives and looking towards the light but I just believe in God.
"I am religious. I pray most days and do my thing. But each to their own."

American Idol adds fourth judge to keep eye on Paula Abdul
In the biggest format change for "American Idol," producers have decided to add a fourth judge. She is Los Angeles Superior Court judge Linda Mellton who has seen her fair share of drug abuse cases over the last two decades. Judge Mellton will not only judge contestants, but she will also keep a close eye on Paula Abdul. Insiders say it was a desperate move on the producers' part to keep Paula "sober" and "drug-free" during the shows this season. "I think if you're sitting next to a criminal judge for an entire season, you're going to be acting a little different," said the insider.
Paula's erratic behavior isn't the only matter producers have been concerned with over the last few years. According to sources, Simon Cowell was the target of an intervention last month. Friends and family confronted Simon about his addiction to skin-tight shirts. Cowell has entered an addiction program.
"It's a tricky situation with that tight shirt addiction," said a source. "Matthew McConaughey had a tight shirt problem. He was cured, but look what happened to him."
